Alex Rodriguez

SEPTEMBER 2, 2009 — Superstar third baseman Alex Rodriguez finished his Major League Baseball career with an astonishing 3,115 hits, and collected his 2,500th on this date during a contest between his New York Yankees and the Baltimore Orioles. The milestone hit was struck in the fifth inning of the meeting and was a single. Amazingly, he recorded two more hits afterward, including a tie-breaking, seventh-inning, two-run single that would lead his team to their eventual 10-2 victory.
