Mike Piazza

Mike Piazza’s 1997 Major League Baseball campaign was inspiring. Famously, he ended this incredible season with an astonishing 40 home runs. Amazingly, this set the record for the Los Angeles Dodgers for single-season home runs, not including a record set in 1956 by Duke Snider while the club was still in Brooklyn. Piazza’s 40th was notched in the fifth inning of a contest between his Club and the Colorado Rockies, after smashing his 39th in the third inning.
