Last night, the Cincinnati Reds, by way of their starting pitcher Graham Ashcraft, carried a shutout through the seventh inning of a contest against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Amazingly, when combined with rookie right-hander Hunter Greene's performance the day prior, the two standout hurlers retired a combined 30-plus consecutive batters. Not only did this hand the Reds two victories over the Diamondbacks, but also marked the first time Reds pitchers have retired 30-plus consecutive batters in over 40 years.
