Oakland Athletics five-pitch hurler Frankie Montas put on a show in yesterday's contest between his Club and the Seattle Mariners. Amazingly, Montas carried a no-hitter into the eighth inning of the meeting, preserving his Club's 1-0 lead for the majority of the game, striking out eight Mariners batters in the process. In the eighth inning, Montas allowed two hits, but no runs, to close out an incredibly successful start. Unfortunately for Montas and his Athletics, the Mariners scored two runs in the ninth inning to steal the victory, 2-1.
