One day prior to the MLB trade deadline, the New York Yankees bolstered their starting rotation and bullpen by acquiring a pair of right-handed pitchers, Frankie Montas and Lou Trivino from the Oakland Athletics in exchange for four prospects. Montas, who currently has a 3.18 ERA and is averaging over a strikeout an inning, will join the Yankees rotation that is headed by MLB All-Stars Gerrit Cole and Nestor Cortes. The addition of 30-year-old Trivino is also a welcome one as the bullpen struggles to remain healthy despite being one of the best in the Majors.
