Holding onto a 1-0 lead that was struck back in the bottom of the first, New York Mets closer Edwin Díaz worked a hitless ninth inning to improve the first-place Mets record to 74-40, while making some personal history in the process. The seven-year veteran converted his 27th save of 2022 and the 20th of his big-league career. The two-time MLB All-Star led the Majors with 57 saves back in 2018.
