Facing a must-win scenario, the New York Mets showed great resiliency in their Game 5 victory on Friday evening - in all facets of the game. Thanks to an early offensive outburst, the Mets bullpen had a lead to protect going into the later innings, and it was the backend guys that dug deep to do just that. Ryne Stanek and Edwin Diaz combined for four and one-thirds innings of one-hit ball, striking out six Dodgers batters. Their shutout performances delivered the 12-6 victory to the cheering Citi Field crowd.
