Last night, San Diego Padres hurler Yu Darvish collected the 3,000th strikeout of his professional Baseball career, split amongst his time in Major League Baseball and in Japan's Nippon Professional Baseball. Darvish is only the second player in history to accomplish this feat, with the added stipulation of at least 1,000 strikeouts collected in each of the two leagues. Furthermore, Darvish struck out nine Los Angeles Dodgers batters in the meeting with the Southern California ballclub, silencing the Dodgers bats en route to the Padres 7-1 victory.
