With his club down, 4-0, in the bottom of the seventh, Washington Nationals first baseman Joey Meneses jumpstarted what would be a 5-4 comeback victory in exciting fashion. The 30-year-old first baseman connected on a curveball from Miami Marlins starter Jesus Luzardo, sending it high off the wall in center field, which bounced away from JJ Bleday. Meneses sprinted around the bases and slid in headfirst ahead of the relay throw, scoring the first of five unanswered runs.
