Sergio Perez

Sergio Perez lived up to his title of 'King of the Streets' with Sprint and Race victories at the FORMULA 1 AZERBAIJAN GRAND PRIX 2023. The Mexican is undoubtedly a championship contender and lived up to the billing in Azerbaijan. He claimed victory in the first F1® Sprint Race of the season, producing incredible pace to overtake Leclerc in pole in the 17-lap contest. He started Sunday's race in P3 but wasted no time in contesting for the lead in the early stages. A safety car early on meant that Perez was able to gain an advantage over teammate Verstappen and managed to hold off the Dutchman for the rest of the race. The Oracle Red Bull Racing driver became the first to claim consecutive victories in Azerbaijan and is second in the Driver Standings, only six points behind Verstappen.
