Exactly 100 years ago, arguably the greatest player of all-time, Babe Ruth, christened Yankee Stadium by hitting an Opening Day home run on the first day it opened to the public. Fast forward to Tuesday and the player who is the closest we have had since the Babe, did the same. In the opening game of the Angels series against the New York Yankees, Shohei Ohtani took a page from Ruth’s book and cracked a two-run homer at the current Yankee Stadium, right across the street from where the legend did it decades earlier.
