Matt McLain

The 17th overall selection in the 2021 MLB Draft had about as good of a debut as you could ask for on Monday night. Cincinnati Reds shortstop Matt McLain, suiting up for the first time, proved the big-league lights weren’t too bright, as he hit his first career double and scored twice, adding much needed offense in the Reds victory. When asked about his debut performance, McLain said “...it didn’t really hit me until later, but it was cool. It was a good moment.”
