Yesterday afternoon, loanDepot park was the place to be, as Miguel Cabrera put on an absolute show on Venezuela Heritage Day in the city his Major League Baseball career took flight - Miami. The amiable and soon-to-retire Cabrera got two hits in what will be his final in-game appearance in the city he called home for the first four years of his big-league career. To make this momentous and bittersweet occasion that much more memorable, the Mayors of Miami-Dade County and the cities of Miami and Doral formally announced July 29th, 2023 to be immortalized as Miguel Cabrera Day.
