Seattle Mariners pitcher Logan Gilbert was dialed in early against the San Diego Padres. After racking up two quick punchouts, the right-hander tossed seven shutout innings of one-hit ball against a formidable opposing lineup. He became the second Mariners player with 10+ strikeouts, zero walks, and one or fewer hits allowed in an outing. Félix Hernández is the only other Mariners player to reach that accomplishment during his 2012 perfect game. Gilbert also set a new career-high in strikeouts with 12.
