After collecting his first career steal in his Major League debut Saturday, Cincinnati Reds top-ranked prospect Noelvi Marte checked another early milestone off his list Sunday. With one more chance in the ninth inning, the third baseman took a pitch from Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Bowden Francis up in the zone, powering it by the diving second baseman to reach second base. The knock was his first hit and extra-base hit of his career.
