Nolan Schanuel made headlines when he made his Major League Baseball debut just 40 days after being selected 11th overall by the Angels in the 2023 MLB Draft. Amazingly, through both of his Club’s doubleheader bouts with the Cincinnati Reds, Schanuel reached base a jaw-dropping eight times, becoming the first rookie across MLB to do so since the much-more-seasoned Hideki Matsui reached nine times in 2003. Notably, Schanuel also collected the first RBI of his big-league career when he plated Mickey Moniak to break the ice in the second inning of the night contest.
