Not only did Miguel Cabrera break his tie with George Brett on the all-time Major League Baseball hit list yesterday evening, but the 40-year-old, 12-time MLB All-Star did so on a four-hit night. Miggy did the heavy lifting with hit no. 3,155, which came in the first inning of the Detroit Tigers bout with the Chicago White Sox. Impressively, Cabrera tucked away a double to deep right field that scored teammate Spencer Torkelson from second base. Cheers ensued, but by the end of the contest, Cabrera would make history by becoming the first 40-year-old to notch a four-hit game for the Tigers since Chuck Hostetler in 1944.
