With the 2023 Major League Baseball regular season winding down, Cincinnati Reds fans paid their respect to first baseman Joey Votto on Sunday during the team’s final home game of the year. The Great American Ball Park crowd roared in the second inning during his first at-bat and once more following a ninth-inning single. Manager David Bell then took Votto out of the game to give him a deserving spotlight to cherish the moment. The 40-year-old, who hasn’t publicly stated if 2023 will be his final season, was quoted as saying, "I could have soaked that in forever. It was an honor of all honors. I’m humbled."
