Oakland Athletics outfielder Esteury Ruiz put the American League on notice in the stolen base department, as the 2023 campaign came to a close. It didn’t take long for the 24-year-old to use his blazing speed to swipe his 67th bag of the season. With Ruiz’s steal of third base in the third inning of Sunday’s game, he becomes the American League leader in steals. More notably, he passed Kenny Lofton’s mark for the most swipes for an American League rookie.
