The 24-year-old outfielder slid into history, taking second base in the first inning. The robbery is Ruiz’s 43rd stolen base, which leads the Majors. More importantly, it sets a franchise record for most steals as a rookie. The former record holder, Mitchell Page, held that crown for 46 years, stealing 42 bases in 1977.
