It was a month to remember for Luis Gil. The New York Yankees hurler was brilliant in the month of May, pitching to a perfect 6-0 record and 0.70 ERA in six starts. Gil held opponents to just three earned runs over 38 2/3 innings in that span, capped off by Thursday night’s road win in which he struck out nine Angels batters over a career-high eight innings. “When you’re able to command pitches out there, really good things happen,” said Gil.
