Friday afternoon was more than just a New York Yankees win for first baseman Anthony Rizzo. The 14-year veteran returned to the Friendly Confines of Wrigley Field for the first time since being traded in 2021 and heard roaring, emotional cheers from the crowd. Rizzo spent 10 seasons with the Chicago Cubs, catching the last out of the 2016 World Series to give his then-team their first title since 1908. “When we were here, we turned a franchise from lovable losers to expected winners,” Rizzo said.
