Nolan Ryan

SEPTEMBER 26, 1981 — Already with four no-hitters in his career, it seemed only a matter of time before 34-year-old Nolan Ryan would set the MLB record for most career hitless games. The ace delivered his fifth no-hitter at home, as the Astros hosted the Dodgers. Ryan struck out 11 batters, walked three and did not allow a hit, officially taking the all-time record for most no-hitters by a single pitcher in a career.
