JUNE 16, 1978 — Established as one of the best pitchers in Baseball for more than a decade, Tom had flirted with a hitless game on multiple occasions but never quite achieved the legendary feat. That was, until a dominant effort against the Cardinals. The three-time NL Cy Young Award winner blanked the Cardinals, allowing just three walks, in a 4-0 win for the Reds and securing the elusive no-hitter.
