APRIL 20, 2013 — Playing in their first game since the Boston Marathon tragedy, Boston Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz gave an invigorating pregame speech to the Fenway fans. He thanked the city and state representatives, along with the Boston Police Department and ended with a rallying cry of “Stay Strong!”. The team remained strong throughout the season and into the Postseason, ultimately winning the World Series in six games.
