Shohei Ohtani and Joey Votto have been named July's AL and NL Players of the Month, respectively. Ohtani brings home the AL Player of the Month for the second straight month for another display of his two-way phenomena. Shohei tallied nine longballs at the plate to go along with a 1.35 ERA over 20 innings of work on the bump. As for Votto, this is his first monthly recognition for NL Player of the Month in his 15-year career. The Toronto, Canada, slugger owned a seven-game home run streak dating from July 24–July 30 and collected 11 longballs in total for the month with a .319 batting average.
