Robbie Ray and Adam Wainwright have been named the AL and NL Pitchers of the Month. This marks the first monthly award for Ray, and it was well deserved. Over his six starts in the month of August, the 29-year-old southpaw has held a 1.76 ERA over 41 innings pitched and struck out 52 batters in the process. Over to the NL, this marks the fourth time Wainwright has secured this monthly recognition over his 16-year career. The 40-year-old hurler logged three scoreless outings this month and held a 1.43 ERA over 44 innings of work.
