Albert Pujols

SEPTEMBER 19, 2001 — It’s safe to say that Albert Pujols’ rookie season was incredibly impressive, so much so that on this day in 2001, Pujols notched the 120th RBI of his rookie season, breaking the National League RBI record for a rookie. This fateful RBI came in a contest between Pujols’ St. Louis Cardinals and the Milwaukee Brewers, as he drove in three runs on the day. Pujols, who was 21 years old at the time, broke a long-standing record previously set by Wally Berger in 1930.
