Yesterday, St. Louis Cardinals veteran catcher Yadier Molina wrote himself into the history books during the first game of a doubleheader between his Club and the Pittsburgh Pirates. Passing Ivan Rodriguez's career-putouts record when he recorded the 14,865th putout of his Major League Baseball career, Molina became the all-time putouts leader, for a catcher, in MLB history. This is no small feat, and remarkably, Molina and Rodriguez are the only catchers to have collected over 14,000 putouts over the course of their careers.
