Wade Boggs

APRIL 7, 2000 — Wade Boggs’ Hall-of-Fame career was filled with incredible moments, and despite only playing with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays for two years, his number was retired with much fanfare. The ceremony was emotional, as Boggs not only hit the newly minted franchise’s first ever home run, but also was a member of the team when he would eventually become a member of the 3,000-hits club.
