Wade Boggs

SEPTEMBER 20, 1988 — With a base hit through the six-hole in the top of the fourth inning in the AL East Division matchup between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Boston Red Sox, Wade Boggs became the first player in MLB history to record six consecutive seasons of 200 hits. The Omaha, Nebraska, native finished the contest going 3-for-3 with two runs scored in the Red Sox 13-2 victory. Boggs would extend his streak to seven straight seasons with a 205-hit campaign in 1989.
