During his performance in last night’s meeting between his Chicago White Sox and the Oakland Athletics, White Sox starter Dylan Cease collected the 200th strikeout of his 2022 Major League Baseball campaign. Incredibly, this marks just the seventh time that a White Sox pitcher has notched multiple 200-plus strikeout seasons for the Chicago-based Club. Furthermore, Cease’s performance was noteworthy on its own, as he fanned nine Athletics batters over his six-scoreless-inning start.
