In last night's meeting between his Boston Red Sox and the Baltimore Orioles, J.D. Martinez notched the 1,500th hit of his Major League Baseball career. Martinez passed this milestone in the second inning of the contest, after connecting with a pitch from Orioles hurler Austin Voth, sending a ground ball to short right field. Martinez's 2022 MLB campaign has been going swimmingly so far, posting a .274 batting average and collecting 125 hits, and the passage of this milestone is just the icing on the cake.
