Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Andrew McCutchen joined rare company during Monday’s game against the Texas Rangers. In the first inning, the former NL MVP stepped up to the plate, singling a line drive to shallow right field. The hit was the 1,500th of his career in a Pirates uniform, making him the first Pittsburgh player to reach this milestone since Hall-of-Famer Willie Stargell did it back in 1974.
