Yesterday, as part of his Club’s bout with the Miami Marlins, Andrew McCutchen became just the seventh player in Pittsburgh Pirates history to notch 300 doubles as part of the Pennsylvania-based ballclub. In the sixth inning, McCutchen sent a fly ball to deep right field that bounced over the wall for a ground rule double. Remarkably, the extra-base hit was also the 400th double of McCutchen’s big-league career. What’s more, two innings later, McCutchen doubled again to left field.
