Making his fifteenth start of 2024 on Friday evening, Atlanta Braves right-hander Charlie Morton was on the cusp of a milestone. On the back of the 40-year-old’s six and one-third scoreless innings, the Braves claimed a 6-1 win over the visiting Pittsburgh Pirates and history was made. Morton became only the fourth active pitcher and 22nd all-time to defeat all 30 Major League Clubs. “It’s special,” said Morton, who played for the Pirates for seven seasons from 2009 to 2015.
