Charlie Morton had the hitters of the New York Mets guessing all night as he twirled a brilliant seven scoreless innings in the Atlanta Braves 3-0 victory. The Flemington, New Jersey, hurler only allowed a single hit with two free bases and racked up 11 Ks to earn his 100th career win. At age 37 years and 222 days, Morton also became the oldest Braves pitcher to record 11-plus strikeouts with one hit surrendered or less in a game since Warren Spahn in 1960.
