With his fourth-inning strikeout of Cleveland Guardians Kole Calhoun, he surpassed Bret Saberhagen for sole possession of fourth on the Royals all-time strikeout list. When replaced by a reliever in the same frame, the fans and family at Kauffman Stadium rose to their feet to give the 20-year veteran a well-deserved ovation.
